Detective Conan Disepak oleh Giant Killing di Manga Oricon

 

Peringkat manga atau komik Jepang versi 'Oricon' untuk penjualan pada pekan lalu, menunjukkan bahwa kini pembaca manga di negeri asalnya itu sedang menggandrungi tema sepakbola. Mungkin dikarenakan momentum piala dunia yang akan jatuh tidak lama lagi, tepatnya pada 2014 mendatang.

Berjudul 'Giant Killing', manga tersebut telah mencapai volume 28 dan langsung berhinggap di posisi puncak manga Oricon. Manga ini merupakan buah tangan Tsunamoto Masaya, seorang mangaka spesialis olahraga, terutama sepakbola.

Situation

Part 1

When Ran, Sonoko, Sera, and Conan are walking, they receive a phone call from Ran's father Kogoro, who asks her not to bother cooking dinner for him as he will be gone for the night. Upon Conan's explanations, the most logical explanation for Kogoro's behavior for the last few days is that he is carousing at a nearby beer garden. Ran, of course, gets understandibly upset about her father irresponsibility, but then an old lady named Takae Kiritani interjects, claiming that Kogoro has been visiting her lately and helping out with some minor household chores, free of charge!

Upon Ran's revelation that she is Kogoro's daughter, Ran and Conan accept Mrs. Kiritani's invitation for dinner, and soon meet the man the old lady believes to be Kogoro Mouri: a young student named Ryouhei Onda, who was asked by Mrs. Kiritani's granddaughter (a fellow student) to help her grandmother against a burglar gang. Though even after the burglars were eventually caught, Onda kept visiting her and helping her out with chores and trivial problems. Now caught in the lie, Onda promises to let to of this deception after this visit, but unfortunately, a loud scream alerts everyone to a crime nearby: in a neighboring apartment house, a man was found in a pool of his own blood.

Resolution

The culprit is Tokuko Shigei. She persisted in those crimes for the sake of her son who died due to an accident. The cause of accident was inadequate caution. Due to all swim tubes, rubber rafts and things, the field of vision for the rearview mirror was obstructed. Unluckily, the driver didn't see someone pushing the stroller behind their car. That's why she targeted every single car that was imprudent enough to have their rear window obstructed. And that's why she etched the word "Die" as punishment.

Situation

Conan, Ran, and Sonoko are invited to the opening ceremony of a chocolate shop that is supported by the Suzuki Group. A fire breaks out in the shop, killing the fiancé of Mayuko Sakura. Was this a terrible accident or a planned murder?

Resolution

The accident is actually murder. The culprit is Mayuko Sakura. It is revealed that Tsujimoto was a highly selfish, devious individual who just used Sakura to gain fame and prestige as a chocolate maker. He had no intention of marrying her, as the public presumed, but instead intended to drop her once the shop was opened.

The fire was caused by a practically applied principle which makes air batteries create electricity: a chemical reaction between aluminum foil placed at the bottom of the swan piece's silver bowl, with a layer of steel wool above it, and salt water in the teapot. The fire was triggered when the self-samely created electricity flowed through the steel wool, igniting it and, consequently, the fruit liquor. The original intention was to have fresh water meet and dissolve a piece of dry ice to create a mist effect.

In addition, Sakura had prepared some additional means of making the fire spread rapidly: pistachio shells placed underneath the liquor bottles on the shelf to make them topple over more easily, and a paper bowl with spirytus, a highly concentrated vodka brand. The latter was hidden beneath the table on which the demonstration of the chocolate swan was to take place, and the volatile fumes from the alcohol were kept in check by the tablecloth until it was lifted by Sakura, releasing the vapors and thereby making the fire go wild.

The crucial evidence which revealed Sakura as the culprit is a picture Sonoko took of Tsujimoto just before the serving of the dish. On the photo he is seen drinking water from the teapot used in the serving, indicating that it was originally filled with fresh water, not with salt water. And since Sakura then brought the pot to the table, only she could have filled it with salt water to facilitate the murder.

Resolution

The culprit is Hattori Heiji. When he noticed the wine is in the wrong cellar (drunken Kogoro Mouri put it in there) he took the wine but it fell because a japanese mouse, which was behind the wine, jumped on Hattori. The evidence was a wine spilt on his sock. Conan said to everybody that the japanese mouse did it. But the wine was safe because Sonoko did a prank and changed the wine with a cheaper fake.
